Automotive Winter School 2016

KTH Stockholm hosts HEADS ITN's Automotive Winter School.

Our team of ESRs travelled to Stockholm to attend their 3rd Network training event - the Automotive Winter School. From Tuesday, 22nd November until Friday, 25th November, the ESRs attended workshops on the following topics:

  • A series of lectures on Automotive & Motorcycle Safety from Volvo Cars, Folksam Research & Autolov AB.
  • Technical Communication workshop led by Barry Brophy
  • Energy absorption in automotive structures and helmets led by Prof. Peter Halldin
  • A discussion on Vulnerable Road Users led by Dr. Madelen Fahlstedt
  • ESRs made presentations at he Dynamic and non-linear FEA session led by Prof. Svein Kleiven
  • The second of our HEADS conferences


    • The training was preceded by the Network's Midterm Review and we are very grateful to Professor Svein Kleiven, our host from KTH, who looked after us all!
