Tekla Festival


Annaclaudia Montanino (ESR 8) took part in the Tekla festival at KTH where she gave a workshop on ultrasounds and helmet designs.
The festival which targets young girls aged between 11 and 15 years of age, aims to inspire this age group with technologically inspired workshops.

This guide was motivated by the need for improved accident data for head and brain injuries.

IBMT Winter School

All 13 HEADS Early Stage Researchers will attend the International Brain Mechanics and Truama Lab Winter School in École de Physique des Houches, France.

The week long workshop was held from the 14 thto the 19 thFebruary 2016.

During the week, the students attended lectures and seminars such as "Biomechanics of traumatic head injuries", "Brain electrochemistry" and "Multiscale computational mechanobiology of TBI and SCI " to name but a few.

Kickoff Meeting Dublin

The HEADS kick-off meeting took place on Monday February 2 ndfrom 10am to 4pm in Dublin Airport. The members in attendance were: Professor Michael Gilchrist (UCD), Dr. Aisling Ní Annaidh (UCD), Professor Jos Vander Sloten (KU Leuven), Professor Svein Kleiven (KTH-Stockholm), Dr. Peter Halldin (KTH-Stockholm), Professor Guido De Bruyne (Lazer Sport), Alessandro Cernicchi (AGV) and Matt Stewart (Charles Owen) During the meeting, the members discussed all aspects of the Consortium Agreement, recruitment and the overall management and vision for the project.
